Visualization

While playing a MIDI sequence, the events get logged and displayed in a variety of ways. Currently, not all, but most MIDI messages are supported.

Every one of the 16 channels have their own display area. The ID is shown at the top left corner of it. Left or right click the X button below to, respectively, mute or solo the channel.

Roughly in the middle, a simulated 'VU meter' shows the total volume of the entire channel. Right below it, a bar shows the Expression value.

From left to right and top to bottom, the 4 squares on the right contain...

  • the last musical note pitch and its Velocity
  • the instrument being used (or the Program Change ID depending on the mode)
  • the Pitchbend
  • and the Stereo Pan.

Playlist

Optionally, you can queue up files or whole folders in alphabetical order or randomly (shuffled).

Open the playlist via the • Queue • button, and start by dragging and dropping MIDI files into the newly opened window.

Loading or saving as an M3U playlist file is supported. Only .mid or .midi files will be accepted!

Soundfont files

Apart from the Oscillator-based synthesizer, there exists a System synthesizer that allows for quick SF2/DLS instrument loading.

Either drag and drop one of those soundbank files into the • Soundfont load • box or switch between modes by clicking on it.

Optionally, the program will try and load a soundfont with the same filename as the currently playing MIDI.
