"Can't convert Fixnum into String" in decode.rb

I'm having this same problem (#4) when trying to connect to my riak cluster using ruby 1.8.7. It doesn't happen with ruby 1.9.2 though.
I checked and my decode.rb does not have the referred patch to fix the problem, just letting you know in case you forgot it.

Btw, I use JRuby hence my need for it to work on ruby 1.8 ;)
