Hi 👋, I'm Rick and I craft interactive experiences at the intersection of design and emerging technologies. Most of my day is spent working at Microsoft and tackling creative collaboration futures between humans and AI.
Congrats on finding me again! I've been creative coding for over 25 years. But if you're a former student, colleague or aquaintance and wondering where I went, I've been pretty much 💀 on all social media since the mid 2010's (except for LinkedIn ). This was a side GitHub account I had setup to firewall some brief, deep research into Metaverse/SocialMedia/Web3 shenanigans I got up to as the Design Lead for Ethics & Society at Microsoft. But after deleting my previous accounts, I figured I'd keep a (smaller, boutique) footprint here for a while. I was pretty much out of the installation/interactive/speaker scene for a while, but times are getting weird again.
Another fundamental disruption is under way as we close out 2022, and I need a place to keep my hands dirty for future talks, workshops and research prototypes. I'll make public what I can, but a lot of my stuff here will need to be private by default. However, If you're passionate about AI, Creative Coding, NLP, Transformer Models, HCI or Design Fictions, I'd love to collaborate and chat. Now's the time. Let's go break some 🥚's.
