Project Management

The full list of project deliverables are listed in the Canarie 2B Project page. Most of the issues stem from the raven repository, but some are tied to other PAVICS and birdhouse related repositories.

Progress is tracked using the Canarie 2B Project using a chrome extension computing story points. The idea is to write in each issue title the number of total story points and the number of spent points completed. So for an example, an issue could be Write documentation (4), which would mean that completing the story requires 4 story points. The extension will sum for each column the total points.

Conventions

  • One story point corresponds to roughly one day of work +/- 4 hours.
  • Choose story points from the sequence: 1, 2, 4, 8. If the story is bigger than 8, split it in individual smaller issues.
  • An issue is complete only when it is in the Done column. This means it has been deployed and shown to work.
  • Relative progress will be estimated as the fraction of points in the Done column plus half of the points in the Deploy and Verify columns over the total number of points.
  • I suggest we assume linear progress over the year, that is 11.5% each 6 weeks.
