To debug L1 trigger algorithms it is possible to execute them in flagging mode. The algorithms are run for every event and their verdicts (accepted or failed, 1 or 0) are stored in the TriggerTypeWord according to the NA62 data format. Every event, included the ones that would have failed to pass the trigger algorithms, is accepted at L1 and is further processed at L2.

The flagging mode parameter L1FlagMode is defined in the farm configuration file /etc/na62-farm.cfg. The default value is set to 0 corresponding to a farm configuration with L1 trigger algorithms executed in normal (cutting) mode.
