CAD Database Up and Running with Fusion 360

Intro

Fusion 360 is a cloud based computer-aided design program that lets you create and share models. It has version control capabilities and it lets you import virtually any CAD format and lets you export to the universal CAD formats as well. The program is quite different from Solidworks so it may take a little time for someone to get used to it. However, you can use Soildworks if you choose to but try and share your files using the Fusion 360

Getting Started

The first thing you are going to want to do is to create an Autodesk account if you haven't already done so. Head over to their education site at:

http://www.autodesk.com/education/home

Click the sign in button at the top and click "Need an education account." Note, you will need to enter your ncsu.edu email account when signing up. Fill out the necessary steps to create the account.

Now that you have an account, lets get you connected to the fusion 360 dashboard. Here is the CAD database for all of our models:

Once you have created an account go to here to download fusion 360:

http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/fusion-360#

Fill out the necessary information and download the installer and install the program.
