New command using discordjs

I'm trying to create a new command send_message which simply sends a message to a target channel. I'm trying to include discord.js to facilitate this. Right now I've done two things:

1. ran npm install discord.js within my src/commands_layer/nodejs dir. This modified my src/commands_layer/nodejs/package.json file to look like below:

2. Added file src/commands_layer/nodejs/commands/sendMessageCommand.js and it looks like below

I purposefully only included the new require on L1 as I was having trouble deploying the stack. I keep receiving a message back similar to:

Received response status [FAILED] from custom resource. Message returned: Unexpected token '??=' (RequestId: )

Any idea on what I'm doing wrong here?

Scratch this. Looks like I'm just an idiot. ??= is called Logical nullish assignment. This is only supported in v15+ of nodeJS while I'm running v14 on Lambda. 🤦‍♂️
