Some Interim Solutions that might be worth exploring

  1. Firefox for Android does allow extension on mobile
  2. Kiwi Browser for smartphones allows adding chrome extensions

What makes these acceptable solutions imho is that a lot of our users are on android and firefox has a good reputation amongst our demographic. Secondly downloading a new browser which is only used for uli might not be such a hard sell to make to people who we engage with in the early stages of user research and prototyping.

I had some promising results with getting uli on mobile using the Kiwi Browser.
I was able to do the following successfully :

  1. Install kiwi on a google pixel phone
  2. Add uli
  3. Login to twitter and see uli icons
  4. Successfully archive a post
  5. Successfully hide/show slurs

I do see some unexpected behaviour. The icons don't appear consistently everytime. This will need investigation and possibly dev resources to fix.
