Hello friends! My goal is to make getting started and programming C++ easy. Help me make the C++ ecosystem a fun place to be for all.

I've spent most of my life programming in one language or another. From assembly, through BASIC, and up to C++ and Lisp. I've managed to program on a variety of computers and operating systems. Including from the beginnings of Commodore computers and DEC frameworks, to the modern VR/AR platforms and game consoles. Doing all kinds of work in interactive games, AI, web, back-end, and everything in between. Throughout that I've gravitated towards working either on high-performance/low-latency or on programming tools.

Some of the projects I work on:

  • B2 build system: A C++, and other tools and languages, build system.
  • Boost Predef Library: A C++, C, Objective C, and Objective C++ preprocessor definition library.
  • Lyra: A C++ 11 command line arguments parsing library.
  • Bincrafters: Founding member of group to create a large number of Conan packages for open-source libraries. Including the first packaged modular set of Boost C++ Libraries.
  • Build Frameworks Group: Creator of group to collectively work on frameworks, i.e. libraries and tools, in support of building software.
  • WG21 C++ Standard: I participate in the standardization of the open C++ Standard in various ways. Most actively in the Tooling, Low-latency, and IO study groups.

I strive to create tools and libraries to solve programmers problems. And do it in a way that engages the programming community to further the life of such solutions.
