I am unfamiliar with pip-tools. Not sure how to proceed there. I honestly dont remember why I make a distinction between dev and prod w/r to the requirements file |
I'd say step one would be to figure out which dependencies we care about and document them. We can segment them by dev and production after that. |

I noticed
requirements-dev.txt
has a mountain of pinned dependencies in there. I think there might be a better way to manage the dependencies.I prefer the
pip-tools
