IMHO now is the time to ditch Python 3.7 support from the main archive and only keep it for a Python 3.7-specific download.

That's shedding about 3MB of seed wheels duped for 3.7:

  • pip-24.0-py3-none-any.whl
  • setuptools-68.0.0-py3-none-any.whl
  • wheel-0.42.0-py3-none-any.whl

After that, the pyz should be about 4MB .... yummy!

Did 18 months pass since end of life of 3.7?

According to my calculation and our policy there is still 6 months left until we can drop it. 🤔
