Modal dialog for messages with parameters can be off screen

I have the developer console using up half the screen in chrome. When the developer console is up, and I click on a action button that generates a message with a parameter in the data-ui view, a modal dialog should come up so that I can enter the input value. Unfortunately, the dialog is not visible in the current viewport because it is displaced by the developer console; therefore I have to close or detach the developer console in order to use the modal.

Bit of a hassle, nothing more.
