Build out proper automated testing

Up until recently the core hadn't been built out enough yet to begin testing automatically but at his point most operation types are nearly fully supported - should use Jest and a Github Action to run a set of test cases when anything is committed to master.

Thinking the test cases should be laid out by operation, running through each of the different pieces of functionality which are supported for the test case.
