stuck on "Activating Python environment."

Type: Performance Issue

After I removed the conda environment (e.g., named "py312"), the next time I launched the Python file, which had "py312" set as its interpreter, VSCode seemed unresponsive, stuck on "Activating Python environment." Restarting didn't help either, and in the extension's "Uncaught Errors," the following message appeared:

Failed to resolve env "D:\miniforge3\envs\py312\python.exe"
