Allow disabling Test Discovery Error popup

Hi,

Would it be possible to give the user the choice to disable the popup Test Discovery Error, please check the configuration settings [...] ?

It's really annoying to see it appear every time I open my workspace outside of the docker dev container, or in a project without tests

This only appears if you have testing turned on. Do you have that set globally in your user settings? If so I would advise you turn on testing per-workspace instead of globally.

I do indeed, but I would very much prefer the test discovery to fail silently rather than having to enable manually this setting per project. Another point is that the per project settings are tracked with git and shared along with our repos and I don't want to pollute them with a personal setting

The problem with that is that if there's a configuration mishap or something breaks it makes it harder to detect. Plus VS Code uses the practice of user/machine/workspace settings pretty extensively.

So are you saying the .vscode/settings.json are tracked in the repo but that you don't want to turn on testing for a project that has it?

Yes because it's still a personal setting, some users of the repo would prefer to use another extension for Python test discovery for example.

I really think that a popup notification should have the option to be disabled, it's pretty intrusive as is and a common feature on a lot of platforms/products
