Is Poetry supported?

I am not able to tell from the docs and from my logs if Poetry is actually "supported". In some cases, I see VS Code automatically appending commands with the word "poetry run" or "poetry add -D" but in other cases, it seems the extension is not using the poetry environment correctly.

1. Is it expected that the Python extension can automatically detect a poetry project?
2. Is it expected the the extension can automatically find the virtual env?
3. How are some commands going through poetry automatically without me configuring them to do so?

I couldn't find any mention of Poetry at all in the docs, which has made it tricky for me to know if I should submit a bug or a feature request.

Poetry is not currently supported (see #8372 ), but we are actively working towards adding support.
