I just wanted to ask if this is feasible here, as I believe the PrBoom+ fork is able to make use of soundfonts.
It came to mind because of recently using a soundfont with other cores in RetroArch. ScummVM's system files include an SC-55 soundfont, and as a bonus, DOSBox Pure can automatically detect that soundfont inside the ScummVM system folder.

AFAIK, this source port can use FluidSynth, so yeah, the GZDoom soundfont could be used since thats already free?
There is now proper SC55/GS MIDI emulation courtesy of nukeyt (like the nuked-opl2 cores), as well as MAME finalized Yamaha XG MU50 emulaton (for GM2/GS/XG emulation).
To the best of my knowledge, that's PrBoom+, which is different from this RetroArch core. If it's in this source port, there are no core options or instructions for using it.
