Sorry, what you mean "when"? Whatever you put in data-gifffer-alt will end up in a hidden paragraph.

The main idea of gifffer is to replace your original image with a svg file and a button. Once clicked you get your original gif. We may indeed maybe put the alt text in a title tag of the svg but everything else goes beyond the responsibilities of the library.
