Check version of AVRO library in use.
In iot_ingestion_manager/project/Versions.scala we have:

val avroVersion = "1.7.5"

Looking at http://avro.apache.org/docs/, it seems an old version (2013).
Perhaps it is better to update the dependency to the current version (1.8.2).
