First Time Setup
Upon first launching the Mod Manager, you will be presented with a First Time Setup. This menu is designed to streamline initial setup, by selecting the various required paths from one section.
This is the folder where you intend to place your mods; this folder can be placed anywhere you like, but it should be kept separate from your game directory.
This is the game executable for your copy of Sonic ‘06. Depending on the platform you intend to use, this file should be named either default.xex (for the Xbox 360 version of the game) or EBOOT.BIN (for the PlayStation 3 version of the game).
If you have a disc image of the game (usually with a .ISO extension) then you will need to extract it. To do this, download, extract and run the Sonic ‘06 Toolkit. Go to File, then Extract Xbox 360 ISO… Navigate to your Xbox 360 ISO and select it, then wait for the Status Bar at the bottom to display Extracted ‘ISONAME.iso’ successfully…, do not close the Toolkit until this is displayed (to check previous status messages, simply click on the Status Bar).
This is the executable for the Emulator you plan to run the game on (likely either Xenia (this build from October 2019 is currently recommended for running Sonic '06) or RPCS3 (currently unable to run the game properly)). If you only intend to run the game on real hardware via an install on a USB Storage Device, then you can leave this box empty.
This option allows you to choose a save file to use whenever the game is launched through the Mod Manager, for most users, leaving this box empty will be fine, as the game will just use its normal save file within your chosen emulator.
Simply tells the Mod Manager whether or not it should launch the specified emulator once mod installation is completed. If using real hardware, then this option should be unchecked.
Once you have configured your options, you can hit Continue to complete the First Time Setup.
