There were mixed issues for this problem.

  • It was partially caused by the power outrage on June 28th. The update server (129.xx.xx.xxx) was offline and the update was failed.
  • Log directory permission error also prohibited to update the report. Eucalyptus has kept changing the directory permission only open to a super user (root). Parsing log script need to be executed by the super user or the log directory should be readable to the user who gathers usage information from log files.

In addition, I would like to change the current way of generating report as simple as possible with reflecting updated and changed directory structure and commands. We have used the old template and the python scripts to generate html reports and to add new reports (quarterly, monthly). Since we updated and changed the directory structure and the name of commands of the repository, it requires to change as how we update and generate reports. We may also want to think about storing analyzed data into database. It saves time to retrieve data and makes generating reports easy.

I can update more detail later.
