The release everyone has been waiting for...

This release took some time, but we have a somewhat idea of what is going on. We have the minigotchi have the power to detect a local pwnagotchi, but not able to befriend it and communicate with it. It doesn't associate to a network, so the pwnagotchi may not have the power to detect it. Thanks to @rai68 for helping me figure this out.
