Rewrite MesageWindow #184
Comments
We need a C++ expert on this, I believe. It is only a very simple window though, so that should be doable. |
I would like to have a Maximise button. Furthermore, it really functions quite well. And File, Reload should stop the python subsystem and restart python again. So, when you work on deeper modules, you don't need to restart Dragon any more. |
when this is (ever) tackled, please review #28 and #129 (comment) |
I can help with the things mentioned here. Doug, perhaps you might be interested in the older winspch.py macro file? I'm not sure who wrote it, but it defines a dialog window in Python. |
Hope this works via mail: Joel Gould wrote it at the start of the Natlink project. I think he did not get it working...
Greetings, Quintijn

Doug, perhaps you might be interested in the older [winspch.py](https://github.com/dictation-toolbox/natlinkcore/blob/main/src/natlinkcore/SampleMacros/OriginalSampleMacros/winspch.py) macro file? I'm not sure who wrote it, but it defines a dialog window in Python.

Ah okay, interesting. Thanks Quintijn.
I have had similar trouble with Natlink and additional GUI windows. They seem to work better with Natlink in separate python.exe processes.

Re: dictation-toolbox#184. The message window's pop-up menu is now loaded from the executable resource data. It is easier to change now.
Re: dictation-toolbox#184. That is, use boolean flags and a dedicated user window message to convey updates to the output window. This makes it easier to update the pop-up menu later down the line, if desired, by adding and hand- ling new flags.
MessageWindow seems impossible to modify any of the user interface controls. Probably easiest to redo it.
