How build this project and replace original one in dbt installation?

Could somebody please consult about how install custom dbt-adaprters version to dbt-core? For example I have dbt project intalled somewhere and it contain all needed dependencies (explicit via pip install or implicit - included by dbt core). But it is needed to replace dbt-adapters dependency in this installation with some fork. How this can be done?
