Add Contabo to BTCPay Deployment docs > web deployment #1367
Comments
They don't seem to have a premade disk image for btcpayserver yet. When you click Select on the last option you are presented with this as the OS: So I guess it still is a normal docker deployment on a VPS in that sense. Unless they still have something in the pipeline, I wouldn't see why Contabo would deserve a spot in the docs any more then any other VPS provider. Also you can't pay contabo in BTC ... that used to be a must have criteria. |
But it deploys BTCPay? It's an easy way to deploy BTCPay through UI, I don't think technicalities matter in this case, you can do it in three clicks, you can't do that with any other VPS, so it does deserve a spot.
No this was never a must criteria to be listed in a docs. |
Yea it advertises btcpay, but i had difficulties actually spinning it up (couldn't find an option to). I reached out to their customer support, awaiting response |
Customer support confirmed that they do not have an option to spin up a hosted btcpayserver node. They advertise that you can run btcpayserver on their hosted box. The image posted above is a potential configuration the user can choose, if they so wish to go through the standard installation and setup process one might with any hosted machine. |
I assume this issue can be closed until they decide to offer cloud-init template for btcpayserver that you can easily select when ordering a VPS? @pavlenex any other findings regarding contabo? |
https://docs.btcpayserver.org/Deployment/webdeployment/ we should add Contabo, it seems currently the cheapest solution (can probably be even cheaper, pinged them about it as their VPS-1 should be sufficient for BTCPay.
