Which VPC endpoint interface (ENI) does the AWS SDK use?

• This is an issue with version 2.x of the SDK

When using VPC endpoints, which endpoint interface (ENI) does the SDK select to establish a connection?

I'm asking, because for example http://sqs.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com resolves to multiple private IP addresses each pointing to an ENI of the VPC endpoint.

Ideally, the SDK would prefer the ENI in the same AZ, but will failover to other AZs if needed.

I'd be happy if you could point me in the right direction in the code as well.
