Hi,
I want to sim my whole inventory of items and legendarys. This takes two days. After one day the sim failed. Is there any possibility to resume within a stage? I'm doing 3056184 profiles.

Did you really get 3m valid profiles from AutoSimC to simulate in stage1? Or did AutoSimC fail in "stage0" (when generating permutations/valid profiles)?

I really got 3m valid profiles, 61124 simc files, 3.44 GB.
After 43210 simc files, ~26 hours, stage 1 broke because of cpu issues. (I started WoW.)
I can't resume within the stage, because -sim stage1 means "do the whole stage new incl. splitting out.sim".

I know, it is a very special problem.

With the default setting, with '-sim stage1' you will be asked:
Do you want to generate out.simc again? Press y to regenerate:

If you just press enter, AutoSimC will just start at stage1 without regenerating out.sim.

I think you don't understand me...I will try to explain again (and generating console output on different pc)

I created a input.txt with a lot of items and changed the settings.py a little bit.
I started the AutoSimC with python main.py.

For example:

-sim stage1 is deleting all files in tmp/stage_1 and splitting out.sim again, so it is restarting at stage 1

When I reach

and AutoSimC breaks, I don't want to sim the first 26232 simc files again. In this example with my laptop it would take more than 4 days to redo this 26232 simc files, also my Core i7 6700k would need more than 1 day.

Could you please implement something like -resume stage1 that only sims simc files, that have no or an empty result file and is not arguments.simc?

Ah ok now I understand you perfectly ;)

  1. Not re-splitting out.simc could be done as a general rule I think, if it has already been done.
  2. We'd need roughly the following additions:
  • When resuming, check for any *.result files, check for their integrity, and add their id to a list.
  • Then restart the sim with the finished parts excluded.

Now that I think of it, it shouldn't be that hard to add. I'll see what I can do.
