4.2 Installation Issues

I'm fairly new to Blender and this plug-in is perfect for one part of my usecase. I'm having troubles though in even getting it loaded.

The interface for 4.2 doesn't look at all like your screen shots on the installation guide. And even copying the files into the directories specified (which do appear to be correct) doesn't seem to show the add-on as being something I can install.

Will this add-on not work/install on 4.2? or is there something I need to do differently.

Hi, @dunedon 👋 Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear Transmogrifier isn't working the way you expected with Blender 4.2.

I can confirm that Transmogrifier does not work properly in Blender 4.2. There are breaking changes in Blender 4.2's API compared to Blender 3.6, and I have not yet updated Transmogrifier to be compatible with versions beyond Blender 3.6.

While it can be inconvenient to have two versions of Blender installed side-by-side, I'd recommend installing Blender 3.6 LTS and trying out Transmogrifier in there for now until I have time to work on the project again.

Your awesome addon worked great in Blender 4.3 alpha. Moreover, under Blender 3.6 it worked very badly with FBX-GLB animations, but in Blender 4.3 alpha it did everything right.

So I would say that your addon works much better under 4.3 than under 3.6 :)
