Translation problem: str is not valid UTF-8: surrogates not allowed.

Hi, I encountered a problem with translation process that says right after completion: str is not valid UTF-8: surrogates not allowed.
Unfortunately no stacktrace from console is available for this. Tried both google_translator and google_translator_batch approaches.

If there is a way to somehow obtain translated text, maybe that will help in further diagnosis, because the process seems to be completed
