Just to find out if there's a bug or not here: was this save created before or after updating to the latest changes?

Tbh I'm not sure. I didn't manually create a save at all since I last deleted my data. I'm not confident enough to say one way or another.

I suspect it's just some weird "we have a save but we actually don't" state.

Given that you mentioned in your issue that you deleted data and were still having issues with the rendering of a non-existent save, and you say you haven't created any new saves since, I'm going to presume it should be alright going forward.

So I just deleted all my save data again - %appdata%/roaming/godot/cogito, as well as the data for my projects. I'm still getting it showing this date in a save slot. I know I don't have a save so I hadn't tried to load it.
I just did, and what I got was a normal game from the start but it only was taking up a part of my screen with the viewport.

Anything else I should try or should this be marked as a bug?

Okay something else is going on to make the weird viewport/window change. I just went in my settings to change invert Y, and when I applied it I got the same result.

I've now made an issue for it. The resoltion is set oddly to start on new data.
