CMD won't open with BG3SE V20 and Patch 7

I can't get the CMD to open. I have put the DWrite.dll in the bin directory, together with a file 'ScriptExtenderSettings.json' with the content

}'

i Have ensured that the file is .json and not .json.txt (saving using "all file types")

I would be extremely grateful for a solution, perhaps I'm just an idiot.

My game is installed on a second Hard drive (D: and not C:, maybe this contributes to the issue?)

Indications

the cmd doesnt open on game startup, while the message
BG3SE V20 loaded.... shows up in the bottom left corner.

Steps to Reproduce

1. put DWrite in Bin, add ScriptExtenderSettings.json with contents
2. Start game
3. see message on bottom left of menu screen but no cmd

Expected Behavior

cmd should open with the json file in the bin folder

Actual Behavior

cmd doesnt open on game startup

"CMD" is not the proper term, it's console :)
Check your game /bin folder and make sure file extensions are enabled to verify the filetype.
