Description of bug

MultiMC does not allow you to install Forge, Neoforge, or LiteLoader without Internet access even if you have installed them before and have the files on your system. It will tell you that new metadata couldn't be downloaded and then tell you that no versions of Forge, Neoforge, or LiteLoader exist for that version of Minecraft. Fabric, Quilt, and Minecraft itself do not have this problem.

Steps to reproduce

  • Disconnect From the Internet.
  • Either add a new instance, or edit an existing instance.
  • Click on "Install Forge", "Install Neoforge", or "Install LiteLoader".
  • MultiMC will tell you that new metadata couldn't be downloaded, hit okay.
  • MultiMC will tell you that there are no versions of Forge, Neoforge, or LiteLoader for that version of Minecraft.
  • While Minecraft, Fabric and Quilt also tell you that metadata could not be downloaded, they will still allow you to install their respective versions.

Suspected cause

Without Internet access, MultiMC will obviously not be able to download the meta file for Forge, Neoforge, or LiteLoader. However, rather than just using the one that's already present, it will just not load in the metadata. This means that you can't install Forge, Neoforge, or LiteLoader without Internet access even if Multimc had downloaded those file in the past. This problem does not occur for Fabric, Quilt, or Minecraft itself as Multimc will correctly use the existing metadata if an updated on can't be downloaded.

wait, why do you write it like Neoforge but LiteLoader is how it should be capitalized??
if you write it LiteLoader, then you're supposed to write it NeoForge.
