I think that some changes could be made to improve the quality and theme of the view of Skulked players:

  • Instead of heightened contrast (Skulk can't see but hear) the blocks should have a tinted look to appear themed. Imagine the way the blind character Toph from Avatar “sees” the world with Seismic Sense https://youtu.be/H7P2ekaPYhI

Visually, it's represented in a monochrome view; in game, the mod could apply a color tint to all blocks to blend them together visually, without removing their details to recognize them.

This could be also complemented by a permanent Night Vision effect: Skulk entities perceive vibrations to see the world, therefore they're unaffected by lights and shadows. As Skulk entities are blind, bright lights shouldn't matter. They're blind because they adapted to the darkness due to living underground.

  • Non-Skulk mobs should be invisible when not making any sound, while Skulk entities, being the same “kin” should appear. So the only way Skulk players can see/perceive players and mobs is through the fact if the character is able to hear them or not. Players and mobs could be highlighted from the background using a tint that contrasts it (in Avatar it was visually represented by making them brighter looking).

PS: I also believe it would be incredibly fun if this mod was more than just a Hunt mode, being able to play Survival with the Skulk superpowers and downsides. Mad respect for the creativity you put in your projects, I use your mods in my private modpacks with friends quite often.
