[Bug Report] Black Boxes Are Appearing On The Top And Bottom Of .ISO Icons (so far for PSP ISOs and Nintendo DS .NDS Icons) #343
Comments
I'm pretty sure this is a Windows bug, not a problem with rom-properties. |
It is, try clearing the icon caches of both Windows and rom-properties and rebooting |
This may be related to Windows requiring square sizes for IExtractIcon. (well, not requiring, but breaking horribly if that's not done) On Windows Vista and later, "large" previews should use IThumbnailProvider, not IExtractIcon, which provides the exact size of the thumbnail without squaring it. I haven't seen these black bars show up on my Win7 VM before, so I'm not sure why this is happening. |
I have tried that. The issue persists. This is a Windows 10 machine x64 [21H2 Build 19044.1288 - 2021-11]. |
Sorry for the late reply. I missed this when you had posted it. I'm afraid I don't know what IThumbnailProvider or IExtractIcon are, in order to implement one over the other. I did some reading up online, but haven't found the info I need yet to solve this problem. I know if I setup the option in Windows File Explorer, under "Folder Options/View/Files and Folders", and select "Always show icons, never thumbnails" I don't get the black bars on the icons. However the icons are blown up really large and are blurry. I can reduce the size by scrolling the mouse wheel down, but the icons still look blurry. Also, if I choose that option, album art for audio files, and video thumbnails no longer show up. Thanks for your reply. |
