@MAZamarripa, can you look into this?

On 10/23/19 2:14 AM, Kelvin André Pacheco <kelvinpac@usp.br> wrote to <ccsi-support@acceleratecarboncapture.org>:

Dear,

Firstly, I'd like to acknowledge you for the excellent work producing the Process Model Bundle. I downloaded and started using, but once I run the membrane example I receive the following message:

( KOND [solver condition flag] = -14)
Group 97: External nonlinear solver failed.
A sub-group in the decomposition failed to solve
Steady state solution failure
Run terminated at 05:56:31
Error in script IPsolve at line 27, position 1: "STS_F_Failure"

What should I do in order to run and get the results properly?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Kelvin Pacheco

main issue:
We updated the membrane model, to fix a typo in the pressure drop calculation. Due this, the example in the documentation/tutorial is outdated.

Error is due to negative pressure (shell velocity is too high, increasing the pressure drop).

Easy fix: reset simulation (ctrl + F7, two times), increase the inlet pressure (Feed P = 3bars) and/or reduce the packing density (right click on the unit model icon, select all variables, find phi and change its value to 0.75), run the IPsolve script (step 9), and run the simulation.

Permanent fix: update the tutorial.

@MAZamarripa any estimate on when that tutorial update can happen?

Update: Kelvin says that this worked. So now we just need to update the tutorial in the docs and cut a new release.
