Process explorer shows more exact values. But before you asked about CPU time, not CPU usage. So what is your main confusion here? |

I don't understand this either. I also use Boinctasks, and my CPU% column shows % of ONE CORE (or perhaps the number of cores expected for that task), so things like TN-Grid which are single core programs show nearly 100%. Why do you have only nearly 10%? |

No calculations from Boinc are accurate. For example I have a Primegrid GPU task which has done 30% in 1 day, yet it says the other 70% will take 100 days. With programming like that, it's surprising it works at all. |

I use HWInfo, Windows 11 task manager, MSI Afterburner, Boinctasks. All report correct % usage on all projects for CPU ad GPU. |

Ah, I use 22000, I assumed I was up to date. Windows update will not give me any more. Are you using something from the Insider Program? If so I guess they broke it, and you should direct this problem to them. What is EVI firmware? |

You could try it. I've seen all sorts work better with BIOS updates, but usually stuff like fan control, not something the OS does. But maybe the CPU usage is under BIOS control? I thought it was OS only, but maybe not. |

I have uppdated efi to the latest version. Didn't help.

There are many people complaining Windows11 does things similar to what you're experiencing. I found: "Go to "Windows Settings>Power>Power Mode" and change the Power Mode setting to Best Power Efficiency" and "It is probably just a bug if your BIOS is up to date, there is another large update coming in a couple of weeks" But why do you have 22H2 and I do not? I cannot acquire it in Windows update, perhaps they pulled it due to bugs? |

Not sure what you mean by "22H2", my version is in numbers only. I'm on 10.00.22621.00 on one machine which I think is the same thing and don't have this problem. Boinctasks reports almost 100% for every task. |

So you are both seeing the problem, on 22621 and 22622. Yet I am not seeing it on 22621. The only difference is mine is Enterprise. |

When I run winver, the response is: I will check the version on my other Windows 11 computer tomorrow. My third computer is still running Windows 10 and the CPU usage is correct. 95-98% or so. |

It appears that the issue may be tied into how many processors Boinc is allowed to use. When 75% of the processors are allowed, the CPU usage is just over 75%: When I change it to 100% of the processors, the CPU usage increases on existing tasks and new tasks are over 90%: When I reduce it back to 75%, the usage slowly drops: |

I've had this issue as well since I updated one machine last week to the 22H2 update. I run multicore tasks for Primegrid, and noticed that the total CPU Time was equal to or below the total Elapsed Time. CPU Time should be roughly Elapsed Time times number of cores. Instead, it seems to indicate that only a single core is running, even when multiple cores are attached to the same process. Last sunday another machine got the update, and since then I have the same issues there. Before 22H2 update (running 8 cores per job): After 22H2 update (also running 8 cores per job): Searching around for this issue, I found several people pointing out that this was already a bug in the beta version of 22H2, and it causes issues for CPU monitoring software as well. Strange things are happening here, but I can't reproduce the problem mentioned. I have one computer (Ryzen 9 3900X) which has no GPU, so it's being very difficult and won't let me use the interface with remote access. It is (according to Rosetta@Home as I can't use the interface) Microsoft Windows 11 Enterprise x64 Edition, (10.00.22621.00). I tried 100% and 75% of CPUs in Boinc on this machine (keeping CPU time on 100%, and got 99% CPU usage on every task both in Rosetta and Yoyo. I have another computer with a similar CPU (Ryzen 9 3900XT) with two AMD GPUs. This yesterday would not upgrade past Microsoft Windows 11 Pro Version 21H2 (OS build 22000.1042), saying there were no new updates in windows update, yet today it's in the middle of getting something when I tried again, but that only gave me a cumulative update, and didn't change the version number. I guess they release updates slowly for either server load or not wanting to break every computer in the world at once. Or are you guys on the insider program? I also have switched off the for other Microsoft products option, which I assume just means Office. Can you all confirm you are not changing the CPU time only the number of CPUs in Boinc? |

I didn't change my CPU settings in Boinc during this, have had no indication myself that it's related. Mine have been set to 50% CPUs throughout. CPU time always 100%. And I'm not on the Insider program. Regular Windows 11 Business & Pro editions |

I cannot update using the link on elevenforums, it says "The minimum requirement to install the KB5015669 Enablement Package is you must have Windows 11 build 22621.290 or later installed." I think I'll just leave mine as they are, since they're all working ok in Boinc and I don't want to manually mess around with several updates it hasn't decided to give me yet! |

I thought that assistant was to install the whole of Windows 11? How do I get it to upgrade? I'm on 22000, even after clicking update a few times in the normal windows update. |

Bugger. No TPM. I'm not going through messing around with Rufus again. That's why one of my machines got the upgrade itself, I must have left the TPM on. As for my 6 other Win11 machines, they aren't capable of TPM even if I wanted to. So a 3GB download without asking if I wanted the whole of Windows or just an update, and it only thought to check for TPM right at the end! Still odd I don't get the CPU time fault on Ryzen 2 which has the updated 22H2. |

Describe the bug
Boinc reports cpu time incorrectly.
Rosetta uses cpu time to adjust workunit length.
By default Rosetta workunits take 8 hours of cpu time.
On 226232 they will continue crunching for too long.
