🚀 Improvements

Graduation Thesis

• We added \unnumchapter command to fix all chapters with no numbering required. (Credits: @Lancern)
• We added numbered sections support for 3_conclusion, 5_appendix, and 6_acknowledgements, and added predefined section formats inside appendix following the guidelines made by BIT. (Credits: @Lancern)

Online Wiki / PDF

• We added documentation for the usage of ntheorem to define theorem environments in your LaTeX documents. (Credits: @shoopshoop)

🐛 Bug fixes

• We fixed an issue in section abstract where clicking on the link in TOC will take you to the cover of the document.
• We fixed an issue where having multi-lined footnotes result in splitting them across 2 separate pages.
• We fixed an issue where macOS / Linux / Overleaf users have an extra blank page at the end of the document. (Credit: @felinae98)
• We noticed an issue where equations have different spacings above and below. However this is an intended feature if you have a blank line before and after your equation inside your LaTeX source code, the correct way to resolve this is to not have blank lines. (Yes we are not kidding.)

🧊 Release v0.1.1

We have published all existing wiki content onto a standalone website: BIThesis Wiki for better styles and video embedding. The original wiki on GitHub will still be available, but won't be updated.

Release v0.1.1 mainly focuses on wiki transfers.

Bug-fix and improvements

• 🐛 Changed all documentation links to BIThesis Wiki website.
• 🐛 Made latexmk the default compiler for all templates.

💡 Release v0.1.0

A long time since we published a release. It is time!

Release v0.1.0 mainly focuses on bug fixes.

Bug-fix and improvements

• 🐛 Fix a bug where the page numbers are a slight higher than the original Word template. (Credits: @mwl0811)
• 🐛 Fix a bug where the "Originality" page is not exactly the same as the original Word template, and also provide a PDF insert substitution. (Credits: @mwl0811)
• 🐛 Add a \section{} demo to the final conclusion page.

Documentation updates

• 📖 Add flowchart to Wiki and PDF documentation. (as requested by the Dean's Office)
• 📖 Fix all problems related to "class 2019/class 2020" and so on.

What's next?

We are very close to releasing a final v1.0.0 version! In the mean time, we are focusing on providing a detailed video guide on how to use BIThesis, stay tuned!

Overleaf integration

We have published the BIThesis Final Graduation Thesis template onto Overleaf. Now you can edit both your Graduation Thesis and your Proposal Report in LaTeX directly on Overleaf.

Documentation

• We have released a PDF version documentation for BIThesis and will publish the document alongside each release.
• We have finished writing the online Wiki documentation, adding the following chapters:
  • Converting LaTeX document to Word: with the help of Pandoc
  • Troubleshooting: using minted environments, font missing (Issue #6), and compilation suggestions
  • Acknowledgements: acknowledging contributions for BIThesis

Bug-fix and improvements

• Add Chinese version README for BIThesis
• Add newly designed cover page for lab report templates
• Add README for lab report templates
• Fix an issue where equation numbering doesn't match the chapter headings for the graduation thesis template

Note: This release's Graduation Thesis template is created following guidelines made by the graduation thesis specifications of Class 2019. We will be releasing a style compatible with the specifications of Class 2020 ASAP. (After Dean's Office releases Class 2020's specification.)
